Just Around the River Bend..

So I feel like something is right around the corner and I can't quite see it, but it's gonna be good. I have no idea what this change may bring, and I hate the unknown since I like to plan things out, but I have to trust in what will happen. There are a lot of things happening right now that could bud into something more beautiful, and I would like to know which one or if any will. I would really like to get out of this rut I've been in for a while now, and move on to something greater, but we will just have to wait and see what The Creator has in store for me that I can't see on my own. Stay tuned for more details!

Love is the Reason

I've had some interesting experiences the past couple weeks, and I can only come to one conclusion.. The Lord must love me A LOT. Let me explain. I'm not saying this in arrogance since He loves all his children, but I came to this conclusion after remembering a quote I used to rely heavily on which says: 'When trials are not consequences of your disobedience, they are evidence that the Lord feels you are prepared to grow more.' -Richard G. Scott. I used to rehearse this to myself all the time when I was on my mission, but haven't reminded myself of it very much since coming home. It is one I should put up on my mirror that I look into everyday, to remind myself of how much the Lord loves me to desires my growth. It doesn't make the trial I am going through any easier to bear, but it does help me to understand part of the reasoning behind it. I may never fully understand the reasoning behind why things happen in my life, or other's for that matter, but I do know this- it is for personal growth. No matter the trial we go through in life, it helps us to understand ourselves that much more and to gain the experience necessary to become who we are meant to be. He just wants us to be happy and to gain the knowledge required of us to return to live in His presence. (Moses 1:39) I'm grateful for the understanding I have of God's nature- that He loves us to a degree that you and I cannot even begin to fathom. This is what truly gets me through the trials at hand. I may not be perfect at it, but I am trying to remember this truth through all that I encounter.

Hurdles

Recently I have been feeling a little overwhelmed and discouraged, as well as somewhat jealous of other's life goals coming sooner than mine seem to be coming. I'm not sure how many of you know this, but I really want to go to Physical Therapy school and I am getting closer and closer, however sometimes it feels like it is never going to come. I have a few friends getting interviewed for PT schools right now and they will be starting this summer; however I can't even apply until this coming fall, let alone get an interview until this time next year- if I even get one. So I have been feeling a bit of jealousy over not being to that point right now, as well as feeling the struggle of having a difficult semester. Somehow thought it was smart to put PhysicsII, GenChemII, GenChemII lab, and the Capstone for my major all in the same semester.. don't ask me why, I couldn't tell you. Along with those classes comes a lot of hard concepts to wrap your head around, and a lot of homework/quizzes/lab write-ups/studying/reading. On top of that I decided to work about 20 hours a week. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining because this is just another normal semester for me, but I am definitely feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders this week; or maybe that's just my backpack full of bricks.. hmm. I have a lot of difficult things to do for my classes, and all I want is to be in PT school right now, but today I reminded myself that I am doing things that are going to help get me towards my goal. My friends who are doing their interview processes right now have already been here and put in their time with physics/chemistry and deserve to be where they are right now. I need to keep my head focused on what is in front of me now, while still realizing that it is going to get me to where I want to go. Not everything we want is right in front of us, but most of the time what we don't realize is that what is directly in our path is not keeping us from our goal, but simply a hurdle to keep us strong on our path to what we desire. I can't get discouraged and disappointed in where my life is at right now, because it is exactly where I need to be at this moment. The experiences I am going through right now will be for my benefit in the future and will only make me stronger as I overcome them to reach the lofty goals I have set for myself.
